Chocolate Cheese Cake

It was the annual IMU Junior-Senior Dinner yesterday whereby all the senior IMU-Edinburgh Transfer students will gather to meet the newbies and welcome them to their new "home".. :) I've always enjoyed gatherings like that because it was the only opportunity I'll get to meet the rest who have been so busy with studies and have not seen them in ages although we're in the same hospital and seniors who are already doctors - just to catch up with them. And it's always fun to hear all these stories that they have to share about their jobs and things that I myself will be doing in 2 years time - if all goes well, that is..

The tradition every year is that the seniors will take the juniors out for dinner, but this year the organisers decided to go for a pot luck. And as with all gatherings, I will bake something (I should try cooking some day..) and this time I decided to try a chocolate cheese cake recipe which I sort of improvised from a cheese cake recipe that I found..

And here's the cheese cake..

I received very good comments about the cake and I think people were more awed by the decoration more than anything else! (I was quite excited about it myself.. :P) However, I've also received a comment that it should be more chocolatey - so I'll work to improve on that. Once I'm happy with it, I'll put up the recipe - which will take a while since my exams are coming up!! Nevertheless, this was a relatively easy cake to bake and I think I'm starting to enjoy baking cheese cakes!
